Bringing Relationships to Life

People gathered around to praise Jesus as He entered Jerusalem. Their Messiah had arrived. Things would be different now. Yet, some disapproved of what happened. When Jesus comes back again, will you be on the side of those who want to remain silent or those who rejoice?

False teachers are actually saying, "If I say it is about you, it is really about me. I need some seed money from you. Send it in if you want to be rich." Of course, who gets rich?

This is the first in a series on false teachers. The series is guaranteed to make some angry. Your favorite preacher just might be on the list.

Is a greeting that important? How should we do so? What about the Holy Kiss?

When you write a letter, you generally tell the reader to say "hi" to the people who matter the most to you. These are the ones you especially like. These are the ones that make a difference in your life. Paul ends his letter to the Romans with greetings to the people of the Roman church who are making a difference in the church. They are not all who you would think they would be. In fact, the list is very interesting.

I have always preached the conservative Baptist party line. Men are to be in charge and women are to obey. That has made less sense to me as I have matured. I see that Paul put the Roman letter in Phoebe's hands. I see that many women were praised for their contributions to the gospel. I see that they were treated greater than mere by-standers. I believe the Bible, but I have a new understanding of women in service to the Lord.

This is a continuation of the previous message. This message gives examples of people who knew God's promises but didn't receive God's promises right away. In fact, it looked like they would never receive their promises. Wouldn't you like to know why?

Can you name a promise that God has given you but you have not yet received? Maybe you can name general promises, but you can't name one that is specific for you. Maybe you have asked God to reveal these to you, but God has been silent. Would you like to know why?

Would you consider yourself a safe driver if you never sped, always stopped at stop signs, always came to a complete stop before turning right on red, always used your turn signal when changing lanes and turning but had only one flaw: you drive on the wrong side of the road?
Would you consider yourself a fully committed follower of Christ if you read your Bible and prayed every day, shared your faith at every opportunity, served the Lord and gave toward seeing His kingdom here on earth but only had one flaw: you aren't patient with people?
Maybe we need to see what God's word says about that.

God is very patient with us, but His patience will not last forever. How long He will put up with disobedience should not be our question. We should respond to Him today.
